PureFM 36 hour charity broadcast
Pure FM, the student radio station at the University of Portsmouth will be holding our annual RAG event on the 21st/22nd April in the form of a 36 hour charity broadcast in order to raise funds for our nominated charities, these being: Kickz, Firefighters Charity, National Cancer Awareness
RAG (Raising and Giving) is the fundraising arm of Portsmouth’s Student Union, and in order to raise money we will be broadcasting special live shows for 36 hours. This years chosen charities who the money raised will be donated to are Kickz, Firefighters Charity and National Cancer Awareness.
This is only the third time that Pure FM have teamed up with RAG to host an event on this scale, and this year especially we are going one better by extending the usual 24 hour broadcast into a 36 hour format. We are hoping to include live sets from local artists as well as various other activities including the launch of 2 charity singles as our very own committee teams challenge each other to sing for sales!
The theme for this year’s event will revolve around a 999 theme, and we hope to surpass last year’s total of £1000.
