Student Travel Agency (STA) are currently running their biggest ever competition which gives Portsmouth students the chance to win the holiday of their dreams, every month, for an entire year.
On 24 March, STA are coming to Portsmouth Students’ Union to give people the opportunity of a lifetime: the STA travel shack will be on campus for one day only to give students the chance to win a round of travel roulette.
The offer resembles Nando’s ‘Spin the Bottle’ offer which came to us last semester, with the restaurants staff surrounding the University library hoping to give out free meals, free drinks and free desserts. STA travel are slightly different in that they are hoping to win students anything from round the world flights, through to adventure tours and volunteering projects. The winner of travel roulette will win two return flights to Australia this coming summer.
The event will be STA’s biggest competition yet, giving Portsmouth students the chance to win a holiday every month for a year. The winner is to receive two return flights to Australia in a bid to join bungee jumping kayaker Ben Southall on his next adventure in the Great Barrier Reef this May. As ‘Best Job in the World’ winner, Southall will set off on a 1600km expedition along the Great Barrier Reef.
Ben Southall, 34, of Petersfield in Hampshire, beat a total of 34,000 applicants from around the world for his dream assignment to swim, explore and relax on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef.
Titled Queensland’s Global Tourism Ambassador, and British charity fundraiser, Southall has landed himself a job earning over £75,000 just to live on a stunning tropical island. The holiday, as described by Ben, is: “the tropical paradise you can only dream about.”
STA claim to provide young people with experiences they will never forget. With special student rates, budget stretching holidays, and if they cannot offer you a better rate than competitors, they will give you a tour on your next holiday for free.
For a chance to win a holiday or join Ben on his travels, simply enter by going to the STA Travel ‘Like and Land it’ Facebook page, at facebook.com/statraveluk. Otherwise look out for the STA travel shack coming to the Portsmouth student union on 24 March 2011.
