Volleyball roundup: easy win for Portsmouth ladies

University of Portsmouth Women's Volleyball 1st 25 - 5 University of Westminster Women's Volleyball 1st

This was the first Cup game of the year for Pompey’s Ladies, and they played well taking a 3-0 set victory against Westminster Dragons.

Both teams are currently second in their respective leagues so the game was anticipated to be a close one. Westminster Dragons starting playing well, but with excellent attacking from Magda Kawolska and Mel Eke the first set went to Pompey 25-13.

The second set also went in Pompey’s favour with brilliant setting by Irene Kallenou allowing more outstanding hits from Pompey, winning the set 25-8.

The third set saw Pompey take an early lead with exceptional service from Laure Mortaignie and they gained a 7 point lead over Westminster Dragons. They continued to play well, and with brilliant covering and pick ups they took the last set and won the game 25-5.
