Sandi Toksvig will be joined by lecturers and students from the University of Portsmouth for the Southsea Park Run on Saturday 26th September.
The event runs every Saturday at 9am for runners of any ability and age.
The 5K course runs along Southsea front and participants can do it at their own pace, whether that’s running or walking.
Sandi Toksvig, the Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth is famous for being the chair of the BBC Radio 4 News Quiz for nine years and the voice of many characters in the dramatisation of AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh.
Recently Toksvig left the Radio 4 New Quit to start her own political party, the Women’s Equality party.
Ms Toksvig became chancellor of the University in October 2012, succeeding Sheila Hancock. Before becoming Chancellor, she had received an honorary doctorate from the University.
The regular run across the coast is seen as an opportunity for the community to get together and get everyone active.
The course starts at Speakers Corner near Rockby’s Café and runs all the way along the seafront.
The event is completely free to take part in and if you would like to register please go to http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/
