The British University and College Sports (BUCS) League once again kicks off at Langstone student village on Wednesday 12th October.
BUCS includes all of the University of Portsmouth’s sports societies and is a series of leagues and matches throughout the year that pit university against university.
Football, Hockey, Lacrosse, Netball and Rugby Union will all feature in the first round of fixtures.
Each year BUCS kick off draws in a bumper crowd and this year will be no different. Falling in the same week as Pink Wednesday and #ThisGirlCan, the crowd will be large and could be the difference between victory and defeat.
BUCS will then continue on a weekly basis all across the University and is a great way to feel part of the University spirit. Whether you are involved in competition or a spectator, BUCS is a significant weekly event in any student calendar. It is also a chance to watch the potential stars of the future with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in four years time.
Issue 59 of The Galleon will include reports and analysis of the first week of BUCS and the paper will continue to cover BUCS throughout the year as it always has.
