Autumn/Winter Fashion 2018

It's time to explore what this seasons fashion has to offer

With the Autumn/Winter fashion season fast approaching, it’s time to take a look at what will be, and is already, making its way into our beloved high street stores. Not only are all of these looks easily accessible in Portsmouth, they are also at student-friendly prices with some stores even offering student discount.

This season, Topshop is all about prints. With matching co-ords and clashing animal impressions, it is definitely a store set to bring out your wild side.

The first that was a favourite at the AW18 Fashion Show, courtesy of The Friary shopping centre in Guildford, this ‘Leopard Print Cropped Frilled Jacket’ paired with the matching ‘Leopard Frilled Trousers’. This set can be accessorised to create the perfect outfit for date night or, for the more daring amongst you, switch out the jacket for a clashing print shirt.

For the subtler but those who still want to incorporate it into their AW wardrobe, choosing just one item with print can be enough. Pairing this zebra print top with a simple denim bottom and a rust coloured coat is just the right amount of wild whilst still sticking to the warmer colours of the Autumn palette.

For those who want to keep in tune with the bright colours that Summer offered but without the worry of how to wear ‘animal’, celebrity presenter Annaliese Dayes pairs a River Island two-piece with a matching military-style blazer. Although we think of the more neutral, ‘leafy’ tones during the AW months, Dayes shows us that bright will definitely not go out of style at the end of this year.

Student favourite, Primark, certainly comes into its own at this time of year. Their tartan prints found on their coats, scarves and even dresses are a must-have this season and at absolute steal prices.

For the weekend workers amongst you, this wide leg, more understate suit sits high in our fashion wants. Suitably paired with a pale, high-neck top, it oozes professionalism whilst still remaining high on the AW fashion scale.

But it’s Topshop that steals the show with its ‘Blush Slouch Suit’ that can be worn with a camisole to an executive event, or bare-bodied with just the blazer to cover onto the town or to the Christmas party. It may seem a while away now but with under three months until the decorations go up and Michael Bublé comes out of hiding, it’s time to start thinking of how to be the best-dressed in the room.
Each of these stores and many more offer a unique take on this upcoming seasons fashion pieces, and if you know what to look for, you are certain to find the perfect piece at a bargain price.
