Review: The Guide Awards @ The Kings Theatre, 15th November
A self-indulgent award ceremony that held the promise of an entertaining evening and instead provided sporadic hopeful highs that led to a show that ultimately ran out of batteries.

A ‘no front man needed’ army of great musicians dressed in black clothes and comfy shoes are the essential ingredients that make ‘A Genuine Freakshow’. The Reading based, 7-piece, post-rock pop band played to an intimate crowd at The Cellars in Portsmouth.
A chilled indie album with the nostalgic undertones of The Beatles and emotional strokes of Coldplay. The cover is a dark artistic portrayal of what looks like a lost pantomime dwarf in drag praying to the gods, an image which I felt lent itself to a genre of experimental electro or heavy rock.
