The Galleon - Portsmouth's Student Newspaper

Ryan Benjamin

Profane writer with aspirations of showbiz journalism and Editor of Lifestyle at The Galleon. I lean towards lifestyle icons and celebrity stories and try to give a campy spin with a tongue in cheek style. I do sometimes go for something a little bit more substantial by injecting my views on LGBT+ developments and what’s happening within the community. Ultimately, this role is for me to work within an active team of writers and to make Lifestyle & Culture a go-to for student reading. I’m also an English Literature student, but would honestly rather be reading the about dos and don’ts of hair crimping. I hope that you find me as funny as I find myself.
